En todo el país, Oaxaca ocupa el segundo lugar por rezago educativo, solo por debajo de Chiapas que ocupa el primer lugar, así lo señaló la directora del Instituto Estatal de Educación para los Adultos (IEEA), Miriam Pilar Liborio Hernández.
En entrevista explicó que en Oaxaca el 14 por ciento de la población no ha concluido su primaria y secundaria, mientras que a nivel nacional es el 5.5 por ciento de la población que cuenta con este rezago educativo.
Destacó que el mayor número de rezago educativo oscila entre los jóvenes de 15 años en adelante, quienes se concentran en regiones como Valles Centrales, Costa y Cuenca.
Señaló que solo en Tuxtepec son 20 mil personas que no ha concluido la primaria y secundaria, mientras que Oaxaca de Juárez y Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán son algunos de los municipios de Valles, en donde se tiene diseñada una estrategia para combatir este rezago educativo.
En la region Costa detalló que cuentan con tres centros y coordinadores los cuales cubren la zona de Pinotepa Nacional, Puerto Escondido y Jamiltepec, quienes con apoyo de las autoridades municipales han logrado implementar los centros de estudios y plazas comunitarias.
“Oaxaca tiene 26 coordinaciones de zona de las cuales estamos haciendo trabajo puntual con técnicos y asesores, pero lo más importante es invitar a la población a que se acerque a las plazas comunitarias para que puedan concluir sus estudios de educación básica”, puntualizó.
Miriam Pilar Liborio Hernández destacó que el año pasado atendieron a más de 95 mil personas, sin embargo estas cifras han bajando durante este 2019 ante los recortes presupuestales del gobierno federal.
Por ello, el IEEA se ha visto afectado con un recorte del 50 por ciento, lo que ha impactado en los recursos humanos que deberían estar cubriendo los centros y coordinaciones comunitarias.
