El presidente de México, Andrés Manuel López Obrador visitó este sábado el Istmo de Tehuantepec, para supervisar el Hospital Rural de Matías Romero para conocer de las necesidades del personal médico, enfermeras y derechohabientes.
Este evento contó con la presencia del gobernador del estado Alejandro Murat Hinojosa, quien señaló que este hospital atiende a más de 277 mil istmeños, lo que le convierte en un hospital de gran importancia para la region.
Durante su visita, López Obrador expuso que durante su administración se lograrán culminar los hospitales abandonados, además reiteró su compromiso con el desarrollo del Istmo de Tehuantepec.
De igual manera, mencionó los proyectos que implementará su gobierno para lograr la transformación del Istmo de Tehuantepec, como lo son la reconstrucción de la vía férrea que comunica a Salina Cruz con Coatzacoalcos.
Así como la modernización de las refinerías de Salina Cruz y Minatitlán, Veracruz, y la instalación de empresas y parques industriales.
Durante su visita, medios de comunicación reportan que pobladores de Santa María Chimalapa denunciaron el olvido de las autoridades estatales y federales, pese a que en reiteradas ocasiones han anunciado apoyos a las comunidades indígenas.
De igual manera, diversos contingentes le reclamaron atención a diversas demandas, entre ellos el magisterio de la Sección 22 del SNTE, que exigió la reconstrucción de escuelas afectadas por los sismos del 2017.
