Del 22 al 28 de julio en tres centros de salud de la zona metropolitana, el Club Rotario Oaxaca Binnizá y la Jurisdicción Sanitaria 01 de Valles Centrales de los Servicios de Salud realizarán la jornada y aplicación de pruebas de detección temprana de hepatitis C.
En entrevista, Noe Heriberto Pérez Pérez presidente del club rotario Oaxaca Binnizá perteneciente a rotary internacional, aseguró que esta jornada tiene el objetivo de reducir el número de personas con esta enfermedad que tiene una alta incidencia de diagnósticos, incluso superior al VIH.
En esta jornada se aplicarán 600 pruebas en tres centros de salud la zona conurbada: Colonia Volcanes en Oaxaca de Juárez; en América Sur en Santa Lucía de Camino y el centro de salud de Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán.
“A través de la información que nos proporcionó los SSO detectamos que estos tres municipios son quienes tienen mayor incidencia de hepatitis C, por eso ubicamos esta jornada en estas zonas”, puntualizó.
Explicó que esta semana de jornada se realizará a la par en 80 países de todo el mundo, en donde se aplicarán pruebas de detección temprana de hepatitis c.
“Para que una vez que se pueda diagnosticar en personas en etapa temprana se tiene la posibilidad de curarse de esta enfermedad, que es silenciosa y no presenta síntomas detectables, sin embargo sino se detecta a tiempo puede provoca la muerte”, puntualizó.
Pérez Pérez precisó que se tiene conocimiento que el 50 por ciento de la población lleva el virus y está diagnosticado, mientras que la otra mitad de la población no sabe que tiene este virus.
“La Hepatitis causa más muertes que el sida, si la enfermedad avanza puede causar cirrosis de hígado, mientras que en una etapa más avanzada no hay forma de atacar la enfermedad y provoca la muerte”.
Noe Heriberto Pérez Pérez aseguró que esta enfermedad se transmite a través de la sangre, el contacto sexual, cuando se tiene varias parejas, por la realización de tatuajes o transfusión de sangre.
